These aren't perfect prayers. They're honest ones. Submitted by people in the middle of real life who found words that carried them through. Maybe they'll carry you too. Whether it's one of our bags, a random notebook, or even just the wallpaper on your phone.
Write it, carry it, and keep pushing.

What carried them through: God, give me the wisdom to know the difference between loving someone and losing myself trying to save them. Give me the strength to step back when staying does more harm than good. Help me trust that distance isn't abandonment. It's giving them room to find their own way back. And help me be honest with myself about who they are right now, not who I remember them being.
What they were going through: Someone I love had everything going for her. The grades, the goals, the kind of personality that made everyone around her better. Then she started following the wrong people into the wrong places and it all fell apart fast. Lost her car. Got into accidents. Left home. I stayed because I could still see who she was underneath it all. But eventually I had to face something hard. Wanting to want better isn't the same as wanting better. Once someone settles into who they've become, you have to give them the space to decide who they want to be on their own. Staying doesn't save them. It just delays you both. The hardest thing I ever did was step back and accept that the person in front of me was who they chose to be, at least for now. And I had to decide if that was someone I could build a life next to.
What they'd write on their bag: "Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it." Proverbs 4:23

What they were going through:
There was a time when I really questioned if Christianity was the right choice. I sat with myself and wrestled with my own logic, but I came to this conclusion. Life is like a constant stream of choices with positive and negative consequences. We make decisions every day without knowing the outcome, but through Christianity and God's word, we are given a filter. A way to identify the choices that lead to peace, purpose, and an overwhelming number of good outcomes. Even when the wrong path seems to offer something worth the pain, God's word helps us see clearly before we pay the price.
What carried them through:
"God, let all my actions reflect You so that even the choices I cannot see clearly will draw me closer to You. Give me the peace You have stored for me, especially in the moments when loosening my grip on Your word feels easier. Give me the strength to trust You anyway."
What they'd write on their bag:
"God's word will guide you into peace as long as you follow faithfully despite the doubt.”
